The Fete and Show is located on the Village Green in Evington (opposite the Co-op supermarket) and is open to the public between 12 noon and 5pm.
Around the Green
There is music from the band, Punch and Judy Show, a bouncy castle with slide, small fairground rides, as well as many stalls, displays, tombola and raffle, the Fete and Show has all the traditional attractions and atmosphere of a very ‘British’ village Fete.
Raffle tickets for the Fete and Show can be purchased in advance or on the day, with excellent prizes drawn at the close of the Fete. To purchase tickets or to donate a prize, please contact the Raffle organiser, Chris Hossack.
In the Marquee
Inside the marquee visitors will be able to see the winners and runners up from the Horticultural, Art and Craft Show which has become an integral part of the Fete, as well as browse the stalls selling gifts and curiosities. Entries into the Show are welcomed for a wide range of classes, from photography through to produce and baked goods. Judged on the day with awards being announced from around 1pm, the marquee is then opened to the public.
By the Marquee
Alongside the marquee visitors will be able to see our scarecrows and vote for their favourite. Designed to resemble famous people, characters from history and popular culture, our scarecrows really are a crowd pleaser.
In the Arena
Taking centre stage (literally) the arena plays host to brass bands, dancing troupes and live acts. The perfect spot to sit in the sunshine, enjoy the music and have an ice cream.
For cups of tea, light refreshments and home-made cakes.
Toilets and baby changing facilities available.
St Deny’s Church
Located round the corner from the Village Green, St Deny’s Church offers a quiet spot to contemplate the afternoon, while taking in displays of local interest.
The Parish Centre
Attached to the church, this offers a quiet place for a rest and a cup of tea and cake.
To be found at the entrance to the Green, the Chapel hosts displays of local history, bringing Evington past and present to life.
